A problem shared is a problem halved - UKGBC's Collaboration Cafés

In 2022, as part of UKGBC's role as an Accelerator to the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign, we launched our Collaboration Cafés. The events brought groups of UKGBC members together to discuss their organisation's progress on the road to net zero. Conversations in small groups allowed for insights on goals, strategies, and challenges to be openly shared, and highlighted how collaboration can unlock exponential solutions.

The road ahead

When asking six sub-sector groups what they see as the main challenges their organisation faces as it strives to decarbonise, clear patterns, commonalities, and divergences were revealed. Key to note is that the challenges ahead for some (for example, changing orgnisational culture) were often the same challenges cited by others as ones they have already overcome. Everyone is at different stage of their journey and Collaboration Cafés highlight the value of seeking out opportunities to learn from the experience of others.

What did members say were their biggest challenges ahead?
